The Driving Force Behind the Classic 1924 Chevrolet

The History Behind the Eagerly Anticipated 1924 Chevy

1924 Series F Superior Chevrolet

Even though 1911 was a good time in history for Louis Chevrolet and William Durant, who invented a classic car and founded the company,1924 was also an historic year for William S. Knudsen, when he became the new president of Chevrolet and joined the GM Board of Directors. But, because of the drop in sales due to a stale product line, 1924 was not a very good year for Chevrolet .

The consumer considered the new Series F Superior line offered by Chevrolet to be old-fashioned with an average design and poor build.

This new vehicle, which had a price range of $490 to $940, was called the "world's lowest priced automobile." There were 307,775 Chevrolets (including Canadian-built cars) produced in 1924.

A First for Classic Chevy

For the first time in Chevrolet's history, a radio option was available to the owner of a new 1924 Chevy. Now the car is becoming a true symbol of US history with its innovative ideas and, it's not just another antique car for sale on the auction block.
