Chevy's Astounding Beginning History

 

The question on everyone's mind is who invented Chevrolet. Simply, it was in 1911, a man, William Durant started what was originally called the Chevrolet Motor Company.

 

Durant  who was also the founder of the General Motor Company  stated Chevy since he had been forced to leave General Motors in 1910. Using his friendship and partnership with Louis Chevrolet, who at the time was a race car driver, Louis ended up using Chevrolet Motor Company and take back over General Motors. This is how Chevrolet became what it is today. 

 

A time in beginning Chevy history that proved to be a great period for Chevrolet was in the 1930's to the 1940's , at this time there were great strides and innovations for the car, they had be the leader in innovation including hydraulic brakes and in 1936 they also offered the standard and the master, which helped to put them back on top over Ford and Buick.

 

The pair of entrepreneurs continued to grow a leading car company. Chevrolet continued with new and innovative designs which kept the Chevy a very popular automobile to buy.

 

The Chevrolet bowtie which has been one of the Worlds most recognized symbols since 1913, when William  Durant first introduced the symbol that represents Chevrolet's success and pride.

 

There are stories stating he thought of the idea from wall paper in a hotel room. When he saw it, he knew it would be a strong symbol for a automobile, and to this day you still see the slanted bowtie of the Chevy and know right away what it stands for.

 

Going to cars shows you will see antiques and classic Chevy's row after row. You will see antique trucks to the first Corvette, or how about the famous fifty-five Bel-Air everyone knows and loves. 

 

You can still find these old cars for sale all around; the Bell-Air is a popular pick.  Chevrolet has been named in music lyrics over time as well; we all remember "drove my Chevy to the Levy" in the "American Pie" tune.

 

Chevrolet has been a part of history almost from the beginning of the automobile through the good and bad and continues to be an innovator in the modern days we live in now.

 

So next time you are driving down the road and sport a classic Chevy you can stop and think and wonder how long it has been around but at least you'll know who invented it!
